The Lottery Office Review
The Lottery Office is the first legal way for Australians and New Zealanders to win from overseas lottery jackpots. Since launching online in Australia in 2014, we’ve taken huge strides, adding new lotteries to our impressive range, along with features like syndicates and lottery combos. Our parent company, Global Players Network, has been licensed to operate various lottery products since 2003, bringing significant experience and expertise.
We are an Australian owned and operated company, and we’re licensed and regulated by the Northern Territory Government of Australia to conduct our own lotteries. In this Lottery Office, we will discuss everything you need to know about what makes The Lottery Office one of the best Australian lottery choices.
What Does The Lottery Office Do Differently?
With a business model never before seen in Australia, The Lottery Office is a trailblazer, bringing much needed variety to the Australian lottery industry. When a player buys a ticket in one of our Government licensed lotteries, we then purchase a matching ticket in an overseas lottery, using exactly the same lottery numbers. This means that when a player decides to play in a Lottery Office lottery such as European Millions, a ticket is then purchased by us in an overseas EuroMillions draw. This matching ticket is used to collect any winnings from the overseas draw, and the exact same amount in collected winnings is then paid directly to the customer.
This business model is very different to how the majority of online lottery messenger services or ticket resellers have worked in the past. Aside from not being licensed and being foreign owned, most other lottery services purchased international lottery tickets on the customer’s behalf. This meant that in the case of a big win, the customer was required to travel overseas themselves to claim the winning. This isn’t a problem for our customers though; we pay them ALL their winnings without them having to collect anything themselves. Our customers love our business model which allows Australians and New Zealanders to win from the massive overseas lottery draws that, until recently, they weren’t able to benefit from with confidence.
The Exclusive Lottery Games Offered by The Lottery Office
USA Mega Lotto – matching tickets are purchased in the US Mega Millions. The US Mega Millions holds the record for the world’s biggest single lottery win, ever, at USD$1.537 billion (approximately AUD$2.2 billion). As with the USA Power Lotto, winners can choose how they receive their winnings; as a one off lump sum payment, or as annuity payments. This is 1 immediate payment, followed by 29 annual payments, until the prize has been received in full. The US Mega Millions has a ‘multiplier’ option, where players can boost their non-jackpot winnings by up to 5 times, meaning huge second and third division prizes are possible.
USA Power Lotto – matching tickets are purchased in the US Powerball. US Powerball jackpots can be simply massive, and it holds the world record for the world’s largest ever jackpot, at USD$1.586 billion (approximately AUD$2.3 billion). It was shared by three players, all of whom now have substantially fatter bank accounts. The US Powerball also has a ‘multiplier’ option, although for US Powerball it can boost non-jackpot winnings by up to 10 times, as opposed to 5 for US Mega Millions.
Italian Super Jackpot – matching tickets are purchased in Italy’s SuperEnalotto. The SuperEnalotto holds the record for Europe’s largest ever jackpot, at €209 million (approximately AUD$330 million). It’s very popular due to its huge prizes and modest price.
European Millions – matching tickets are purchased in Europe’s EuroMillions. The EuroMillions is famous for its superdraws, which occur about 3 times a year. When a superdraw hits, the jackpot prize gets a big boost. EuroMillions superdraws have proven very popular, and it’s easy to see why; jackpots can instantly jump from approximately AUD$25 million to AUD$210 million in a single week.
European Jackpot – matching tickets are purchased in Europe’s Eurojackpot. The Eurojackpot is the main rival to the EuroMillions. These two Euro lotteries are often compared, but in reality they’re quite different and are not sold in the same European countries (apart from Spain, which sells both). It has a smaller maximum prize than the EuroMillions (by ‘smaller’, we mean that it’s still €90 million, or approximately AUD$140 million), but has slightly better chances of winning.
UK Lotto – matching tickets are purchased in the UK National Lotto. The UK National Lottery has been a stalwart of lottery players in the UK since 1994, and now lotto players in Australia and New Zealand can legally have access to it. It has a starting jackpot of over AUD$3.5 million.
Irish Lotto – matching tickets are purchased in the Irish National Lotto. With a minimum first prize of well over AUD$3 million, the Irish Lotto may be smaller than our other lotteries, but its higher chances of winning make it very appealing.
Why play overseas lotteries in Australia
While the Australian lottos such as Oz Lotto and Powerball are great national lotteries in Australia, due to the relatively small population, potential ticket sales will always be limited. Because of this, the jackpots in these Australian-based lottos are also limited, and will likely only ever reach a reasonable but still fairly restricted size.
So while these Australian lotteries are big and most people would be happy to win one, the overseas lotteries offer much larger Jackpots!
Biggest Overseas Lotteries Jackpots
US Powerball Lottery $1.586 Billion USD or $2.175 Billion Australian
US Mega Millions Lottery $1.537 Billion USD or $2.108 Billion Australian
Biggest Australian Lotto Wins
Australian Powerball $110 million and the Oz Lotto $100 million
Why Play Lotto Online?
It’s clear that more and more lotto play is moving out of shops and onto our screens. It’s easy to see why, with online lottery giving players the convenience to play anywhere and at any time they choose.
Why go through the hassle of lining up at a retailer to buy lottery tickets, when it’s so simple to play through computers and mobile devices? Why manually check your ticket to see if you’ve won a prize? Why take your ticket back into the shop after the draw to collect any prizes? None of these painful steps are necessary when you play lotto online with The Lottery Office.
Players can easily enter any of our exclusive draws just by touching a few buttons. We then email players after each draw to let them know if they’ve won a prize or not. If they win any prizes worth under $10,000, we automatically pay their winnings into their Lottery Office account shortly after the draw. From there, they can easily reinvest or withdraw their winnings.
For any prizes worth $10,000 or more, we call the winner and ask them how they’d prefer to be paid. With The Lottery Office, not only do players not need to physically buy a ticket in-store, but they don’t have to keep it safe or risk losing it. Playing lottery online with The Lottery Office is the future!
New Addition to The Lottery Office Review
Spanish La Primitiva – matching tickets are purchased in Spain’s La Primitiva.
The La Primitiva (‘The Primitive’ in Spanish) was first established way back in 1763, making it one of the oldest lotteries in the world. It has a unique number system, where the player selects main numbers as usual, but they must also select 1 ‘Reintegro’ number, from a separate pool of 0 to 9. Players only need to match this single number to win a prize.
A supplementary number (the ‘Complementario’) is also drawn, to help determine the winners of the third division prize.
There is also an additional game available for play, called, ‘The Joker’. This has 7 additional prize divisions of its own, giving players more chances to win a prize of up to AUD$1.6 million.
Players don’t choose their Joker number; it’s automatically assigned to them. La Primitiva has a starting jackpot of AUD$3 million, but it regularly offers very impressive jackpots. A prize of over AUD$160 million has been won in the La Primitiva, making it a major player amongst Europe’s mega-lotteries.
La Primitiva – matching tickets are purchased in Spain’s La Primitiva. With a jackpot that’s previously reached AUD$160 million, a unique drawing system, an exciting side game and a very modest price, the latest addition to our lottery family is primed to be a hit with our players.
Along with the Italian Super Jackpot, the Spanish La Primitiva is the most affordable lottery game we offer. Keep reading for more of The Lottery Office Review.
Payment Methods and Withdrawal Options at the Lottery Office
Players with The Lottery Office can enter our lotteries using credit card, debit card, BPAY and POLi (POLi is not available to New Zealanders). When customers win less than AUD$10,000 we automatically deposit their winnings in their Lottery Office account as soon as the lottery results have been processed.
When players win AUD$10,000 or more, we contact them personally to organise payment in the manner most convenient to them. We don’t charge any commissions or fees on winnings, and winnings from all of our lotteries are free from Australian and New Zealand taxes. Some of the matching lotteries we buy tickets in are subject to taxes, and the after-tax amount is paid to customers. An example of this is the US Powerball. This is subject to state and federal taxes in the USA. The prizes paid out from our USA Power Lotto will be the same as the prizes paid out in the US Powerball, less any USA taxes. Customers don’t need to do a thing to get their winnings, we do all the legwork for them!
Features and Options of The Lottery Office
As well as access to a great selection of overseas lotteries, The Lottery Office provides its customers with a range of options to simplify their playing experience and make it more enjoyable. These options are designed to make life easier for the customer and to keep them engaged and excited about playing with us.
Favourites: For our matched lotteries, customers have the ability to save their favourite numbers for any lottery they choose. A lot of players love to reuse their favourite numbers, this is much faster and simpler than manually selecting numbers each time they play.
Multi-draws: This feature allows players to pay in advance for entry into 2, 3, 5, 10 or 20 draws. This saves them a great deal of time and effort, and they don’t have to try and remember to enter each draw individually. It’s a simple purchase that only needs to be repeated once the selected amount of draws have played out.
Syndicates: A lot of lottery players are excited by the prospect of joining with other players to collectively increase their purchasing power! Syndicates allow them to do this. By pooling their money, players are able to vastly increase how many tickets they can purchase.
Purchasing more lottery tickets greatly increases the chances of taking home a win, and because the costs are shared, it doesn’t cost players a huge amount to join a syndicate. Players have the option of buying as many shares as they like in a syndicate. The more shares a player has, the more they collect in the event of a win. Because of the reasonable cost and increased chances of winning, this feature has proven very popular.
Combos: Our combos let customers purchase entry into more than 1 lottery within a single purchase. Players can buy a combination of lotteries at one time, for example, the USA/Euro Combo gives entry into the European Millions, USA Power Lotto and USA Mega Lotto (we then buy matching tickets in the EuroMillions, US Powerball and US Mega Millions).
Players are able to purchase any or all of the above options in a single purchase.
The Lottery Office – Australian Based Customer Service
With Australia based employees, players can rest assured that if they need any help, the Customer Service team are on hand to assist in any way they can. There is a live chat feature that runs 9-5, Monday to Friday (AEST). Customers also have the options of contacting us via email or Messenger. We pride ourselves on our service and go the extra mile for our customers.
In addition to our outstanding personal service, we have an extensive collection of FAQs that explain everything that can be found on our site, from how to sign up to how our business model works.
